Remember!

Memory is God’s Way of Helping us Gain Wisdom

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

During this time of Pandemic, while we are still living in unprecedented times and confusion, we cannot forget the events that shook our nation to its core 19 years ago.

“On September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which triggered major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism.” (www.history.com)

The message that President George W. Bush delivered to the country is relevant to us today, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”

We continue to pray for all the innocent people who lost their lives due to this terrorist act of pure evil. We pray for the innocent men and women who lost their lives in the Planes, in the Twin Towers, at the Pentagon, and in a special way all the first responders who heroically put their lives in danger to save lives by giving up their own lives.

May God’s blessings continue to be upon all our families especially during these unprecedented times of global pandemic, civil unrest and local fires.

Peace in Christ,
Fr. John Poncini
