Dear Brothers & Sisters,
During this time of pandemic, it can be easy to lose sight of the Christmas Joy! Remember, joy is a true gift of Christmas and this Christmas Joy should be contagious.
The Joy of Christmas is that a gracious God became one of us to tell us that he loves us. On Christmas day, with the birth of our Savior, we remember and celebrate the Good News that the God of Mercy has come into the history of humanity to bring us perfect peace and joy that the world cannot give.
For this reason, the Angel joyfully announced, “I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.” (Lk 2:10-11).
May this Christmas Joy bring us to a deeper understanding of the value and meaning of the mystery of Christ. It is not just about remembering the historical event that occurred some 2,000 years ago in the little town of Bethlehem. The intention of Christmas is to awaken the most profound and basic emotional memory within us, namely, the memory of the God who became a child.
May this Christmas Season continue to inspire us to spread far and wide this contagious Joy of Christ our Savior. Along with Fr. Anthony Uytingco, Fr. Robain Lamba, Dcn. Charles Corbalis, and the entire Staff, I want to wish you and your families a Blessed and Merry Christmas.
Christmas blessings to all,
Fr. John L. Poncini, Pastor
