Full authority has been given to me both in heaven and on earth; go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. -Matthew 28:18-19
Children under 7 years of age
Baptisms of infants and young children are celebrated by appointment or during the Sunday liturgy as scheduled according to the Church Year. Private baptisms can be arranged if necessary. The Sacrament of Baptism is not celebrated during the season of Lent.

Children over the age of 7
People ages 7 and above who wish to be baptized must participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This process runs from September through May. At the Easter Vigil following the initial discernment, both children and adults are eligible to celebrate Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Parents of children age 7 or above wishing to enter this process are highly encouraged to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC). If you are interested, please contact Melissa Geier.
If you or someone you know is curious about becoming Catholic, we’d like to invite you to come explore your questions. We are currently forming an inquiry group to discuss and answer any questions you might have about what Catholics are all about. It’s a very informal group, and there is no obligation. If you’d like to join us, please call the office at St. Nicholas at 650-948-2158 or please contact Deacon Charles Corbalis.
