They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of people worldwide. Volunteers are the heart of the mission to end hunger and millions of meals could not be sent around the globe each year without volunteers. Do you have a couple of hours to spare and help us prepare meal packets for Compassion Week’s Rise Against Hunger project on Friday, September 27 from 6 PM – 8:30 PM at St. William Hall?
Space to volunteer is limited to the first 60 adults and teens. Please only register adults and teens.
Come to St William Hall after 4 pm Mass on Saturday Sept 21 and any morning Mass on Sunday Sept 22 and spend a few minutes filling some zip lock bags with hygiene items like a comb, bar of soap, toothbrush, lotion, and socks. No signup required! These personal kits will be distributed to people through our Catholic Charities programs in Santa Clara County. Each kit is an expression of our respect for the dignity of each person. Just come over after Mass. There will be coffee and donuts, too, on Sunday morning. Give 15 or 20 minutes of your time and together we will ease the lives of our brothers and sisters in need. Members of Bridges to Community will welcome you and get you started!
Do you have 1 or 2 hours to help with making Fleece blankets to support Bill Wilson Center, Hope's Corner, Pathways Hospice, The Linus Project, Project We Hope, Home and Heart Collaboration, and YWCA victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. No skills required and you will meet new friends and have fun while doing something to help others.
Location: St. Nicholas Hall
