Was Your Spirit Fed?
On Ash Wednesday we gathered as a community and were signed with ashes, and heard the invitation to, “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” Lent was a time for us to be present to the message of Jesus as he went about building the Kingdom of God. His words, his actions, are all meant to help us understand the great purpose of his mission. We embraced the Lenten practice of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving and we entered deeply into the power and forgiveness of our God in the sacrament of penance. As Palm Sunday led us to the Triduum we were reminded that, “God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish, but have eternal life.”
